E.A. Diddle Arena, right on campus in Bowling Green, has been the home of the Hilltoppers since 1963. Named in honor of a legendary WKU men’s basketball coach, the venue also serves the Lady Toppers basketball and volleyball teams. Up to 7,326 guests are welcomed at each game.

• Odie Spears (1941–1948): After his first two years at WKU, Spears found himself on the 326th Glider Infantry team while he served in the U.S. Army. When he returned to Western Kentucky, he became the school’s leading scorer. After college, he made it into the NBA, contributing to franchises that would become today’s Sacramento Kings, Detroit Pistons, and Atlanta Hawks.

• Clem Haskins (1964–1967): Haskins was one of the first African-American athletes at Western Kentucky University. A Consensus First-Team All-American and three-time OVC Player of the Year, he was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the 1967 NBA Draft and went on to have a prominent career as a player and as a highly decorated NCAA Division I coach.

• Greg Smith (1965–1968): After an impressive three years on the court with the Hilltoppers, Smith was drafted by the Kentucky Colonels of the ABA and the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA. He chose to go to Milwaukee, where he led the league in games played during the 1969–70 season and greatly contributed to the team’s 1971 championship win over the Baltimore Bullets.

• Courtney Lee (2004-2008): Known for his scoring ability at Western Kentucky, Lee was named Sun Belt Player of the Year in 2008 after three consecutive First-Team All-Sun Belt designations. In the NBA Draft, he was chosen by the Orlando Magic, and his 12-year career in the league saw him lending his renowned sharpshooting and defensive skills talents to eight teams.

• Jeremy Evans (2006–2010): The Hilltoppers all-time leader in blocks with 224 overall, Evans was chosen by the Utah Jazz in the 2010 NBA Draft. In 2012, he won the NBA All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk Contest with 29% of the votes. In addition to subsequent stints with the Mavericks and Hawks, he has played professionally in Moscow, Turkey, Italy, Paris, Bahrain, and Greece.
