About Dirty Heads

Dirty Heads is a band born from a friendship and musical collaboration between Dustin "Duddy B" Bushnell and Jared "Dirty J" Watson. Driven by a shared creative vision, they embarked on an endeavor that would see them earning a faithful following. The duo’s distinct fusion of hip hop, reggae, and rock, crafted in Huntington Beach, California, distinguished their sound within the music scene.

Bushnell and Watson added drummer Matt Ochoa, percussionist Jon Olazabal, and bassist Dave Foral to the mix and got to work on their debut album. Any Port in a Storm, released in 2008, quickly made waves beyond Orange County. A deluxe edition, dropped in 2010, included "Lay Me Down," a track featuring Rome Ramirez that spent a whopping 11 weeks at number one on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.

Subsequent albums, including Sound of Change (2014) and Swim Team, further solidified the group’s place in the industry and illustrated their evolving sound. Sound of Change debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200, and “Vacation” from Swim Team went viral in 2021 when TikTok users adopted it for a travel transition challenge. These achievements significantly expanded the band’s ever-growing reach.

The Best of Dirty Heads (2021) capitalized on their profound success, and Midnight Control (2022) has continuously showcased the band in the spotlight. As long as they continue to push sonic boundaries, blend genres, and spread positivity, Dirty Heads’ is poised to add several interesting chapters to their story, and they have a dedicated fan base that’s sure to follow them wherever they roam.
