About John Fogerty

John Fogerty had his sights set on a career in entertainment when he formed The Blue Velvets in high school. It was this teenage venture that evolved into the legendary Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), a multi-Grammy Award-winning group that consisted of Fogerty and his brother Tom, Stu Cook, and Doug Clifford. As the lead vocalist, guitarist, and principal songwriter, John Fogerty crafted a series of hits that secured the band’s place in music history as well as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

After the dissemination of CCR in 1972, he embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut The Blue Ridge Rangers in 1973 and an eponymous follow-up in 1975. However, it took another ten years for his subsequent release, and it was worth the wait! Centerfield became a massive hit in 1985, soaring to the top of the charts in several countries. Fogerty penned and played every song himself, and the standout title track has become a piece of American pop culture

Centerfield was followed by Eye of the Zombie (1986) and Blue Moon Swamp (1997), which won a Grammy for Best Rock Album. Throughout the 21st century, new releases have hit the US Billboard charts every few years. With a catalog of timeless tracks and well over 1000 concert appearances, John Fogerty is not only an inspiration and an icon from rock and roll’s golden age—he is still a thriving artist. As he moves forward, fans can anticipate new music that echoes the passion of his early days.

  • October 17, 2013: John Fogerty invited Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top on stage at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Fogerty had told Gibbons they were going to try to “tear the house down,” and that’s exactly what they did with their rockin’ rendition of “Sharp Dressed Man”
